Duly Noted/Black Humor

The church that I thought was going to hire me found that they didn't have the money in the budget after all, so I've decided to return to Arkansas for the remainder of the summer slash until further notice, because a divorced, religionless, ex-minister with half a completed master's degree isn't truly humiliated until she moves back in with her parents at age 27.

On a totally unrelated note, I heard a high-larry-ous joke today on "Last Comic Standing":

"When I was a little kid I just couldn't wait to be a grown up. Now that I'm grown up, I can't wait for death."

  1. Oh Whit... I'm so sorry. When it rains, it certaily pours.

I don't know if it helps at all, but we were in James yesterday at church and reading how we 'should' rejoice in our trials because it is God's way of shaping us and preparing us for the next step with him. To that I say, "No thanks... the last trials were hard enough!" ;)

  2. So sorry you are going through so much right now. We will miss you! You were a breath of fresh air in our midst at MZUMC!

  3. I'm sorry! If it makes you feel any better, I'm considering moving back in with my parents in LR and going back to school -- I always swore I'd never live in LR again, much less with my parents! In the meantime, if you want to come visit in NWA, I have a spare bedroom! :-D
